The latest update from the Ministry of Health is confirming 11 new positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of active cases in the country to 606 patients.
The Ministry notes that the new cases are based on samples taken between Thursday 5 and Saturday 7 November 2020. In addition, this latest statistic marks a slight in the number of active cases nationally, as the figure for yesterday (Saturday) stood at 600 patients.
In its update for today, Sunday 8 November 2020, the Ministry also is reporting no new deaths from COVID-19 since Thursday 5 November 2020, with the national toll holding at 111 persons.
The Health Ministry also notes in its update:
● 37 persons are still hospitalised for COVID-19; down from 41 patients on Saturday.
● 526 persons are in home self-isolation; up from 487 patients on Saturday.
● 302 persons are in State quarantine facilities; up from 222 patients on Saturday.
● 32 patients are still recovering in step/down facilities; no change from Saturday.

Members of the public are reminded that they must adhere to the ‘New Normal’ recommendations and take the following personal health measures to protect themselves and their loved ones from COVID-19:
● Wear a mask over your nose and mouth when you go out in public
● Keep your distance from others (6 feet)
● Stay home if you are ill
● Clean then sanitise surfaces (e.g. tabletops, door knobs and cell phones)
● Wash your hands often with soap and waters or use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser
● Cough into a tissue or into the cook of your elbow
● Avoid touching your face
If you or a loved one develops symptoms of COVID-19, please call the hotline 877-WELL or 800-WELL (9355) for further guidance.
If the person is severely ill, call the 811 (emergency hotline) or call ahead to the Accident and Emergency Department of your nearest hospital for help and go in immediately.
