An 18-year-old is expected to appear virtually before a Master of the High Court today, charged with gang-related offences.
In a media release, the TTPS said Javon Prescod, of Malick, was among four people arrested by officers of the Northern Division and charged with robbery with violence, possession of firearm and possession of ammunition, following a report of robbery with violence in the Arima district on July 17th, 2024.
Further investigations were launched by the Northern Division North’s Gang Unit into gang-related offences arising out of the incident.
The investigations were coordinated by DCP ‘Intelligence and Investigations’ Suzette Martin, ACP Subero, Snr. Supt. Montrichard, Supt. Guelmo and supervised by Region Two Gang Unit Commander, ASP Pitt.
As a result of the investigation, the suspect was subsequently charged with professing to be a gang member to gain a benefit for himself, possession of a firearm to commit a gang-related activity namely robbery with violence and possession of ammunition to commit a gang-related activity namely robbery with violence.
