Two more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Tobago, according to the latest update from the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), dated Sunday 3 July 2022.
The report says the number of current active infections now stands at 105.
In addition, the THA Health Division report says no new deaths have been recorded over the past 24 hours.
On Saturday (July 2), the Division reported an unvaccinated person was the latest individual to lose their life to COVID-19 in Tobago. Their death brought the death toll for COVID-19 on the island to 272 lives lost. Before Saturday, the most recent death had been reported just over a week ago, on Tuesday 28 June 2022, with a fully vaccinated person identified as the deceased on that date.
The Tobago COVID-19 update for 3 July 2022 also says that currently, 11 people are hospitalised with COVID-19. Six of these patients have not been vaccinated at all against the disease, while the other five patients have been fully vaccinated.
The report also shows that while people in Tobago continue to be infected with COVID-19, many previously infected people are recovering from the disease, as eight more people were certified as recovered from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.
At present, the total number of people in Tobago who have recovered from COVID-19 since March 2020 now stands at 9,673.
