Man­ning al­so said he "vi­o­lent­ly op­posed" the de­ci­sion of the Deputy Speak­er not to al­low Point Fortin MP Paula Gopie-Scoon to move a mo­tion to bring Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar be­fore the Priv­i­leges Com­mit­tee. He said her com­ments re­gard­ing the wire-tap­ping was far more se­ri­ous than the mat­ter which he was fac­ing be­fore the com­mit­tee. Man­ning al­so spoke of a move by the Gov­ern­ment to sus­pend him from Par­lia­ment for three months. He said he would not be sur­prised if a war­rant was is­sued in the fu­ture to search his home for the grand pi­ano.
