Campbell Evans, spokesman for the Scotch Whisky Association, shrugged off the campaign."Scotsmen and Scotch whisky are both self-assured and that quality is recognised, sought after and appreciated around the world," he said.Lorimer Mackenzie, chairman of the Saltire Society, which promotes Scottish values, said: "I don't think they're really making fun of Scots; they're making fun of whisky."And it has to be said that if the Scottish tourist industry decides that the only way to sell Scotland overseas is through tartan and haggis then we should not complain when other people take them at their word," he said."The Scottish image is bigger than whisky and haggis. We have given so much to the world that we should not be sensitive about people having a laugh at a false image of Scotland."
