Ch­agua­nas Car­ni­val has been in­sured for $5 mil­lion, ac­cord­ing to May­or Or­lan­do Nages­sar. Speak­ing dur­ing Kid­dies Car­ni­val cel­e­bra­tions on Sun­day along the Ch­agua­nas Main Road, Nages­sar said this was a first for Car­ni­val in Ch­agua­nas and he hoped burgess­es would not take "ad­van­tage" of the in­sur­ance cov­er­age.

Nages­sar said the de­ci­sion to move the cel­e­bra­tions from Ram­saran Street to the Main Road had proved ben­e­fi­cial since there were more pa­trons at the venue in front of the Ch­agua­nas Mar­ket. Chair­man of the Car­ni­val Com­mit­tee, Ch­agua­nas West MP Jack Warn­er said cel­e­bra­tions in the bor­ough had grown tremen­dous­ly. He said $500,000 in prizes would be dis­trib­uted lat­er this month.
