She said un­der the Con­sti­tu­tion that was a mat­ter for the Pres­i­dent. Asked if she rec­om­mend­ed Mo­hammed's re­moval, the PM said while she was not at lib­er­ty to an­swer that ques­tion, Pres­i­dent Richards would be guid­ed by the law that pro­vid­ed for the re­moval of a mem­ber of a Ser­vice Com­mis­sion. She said Mo­hammed was reck­less when he went fur­ther than just pre­sent­ing sta­tis­tics on the al­leged eth­nic im­bal­ance in the Po­lice Ser­vice. "That is where the state­ment was reck­less," she added. The PM said the Gov­ern­ment did not share Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment Min­is­ter Chan­dresh Shar­ma's view that the many pub­lic calls for Mo­hammed's re­moval were pre­ma­ture.
