The Media Association of T&T (Matt) says Allyson Hennessy's multiple talents, intelligence, commitment and vision for T&T's people carved for her a unique and influential place at the very centre of the country's cultural life, from the independence era to her death. She died on Saturday night at the St Clair Medical Centre. In a statement yesterday, the association said to summarise Allyson's broad and deep contribution to the development of T&T was as complex as defining the facets of a jewel.

The release said her "life intersected with people every level of our society, whether in her most widely acclaimed role as television broadcaster and producer or as the mentor and friend of many of the country's most outstanding personalities."It said during the 1990 insurrection she played a major role, harnessing the national community together with her news broadcasts, delivered from Camp Ogden, St James, under the most challenging of circumstances."Her commitment to the media was tireless," the release also said.
