Mem­ber of Par­lia­ment for St Au­gus­tine and Le­gal Af­fairs Min­is­ter Prakash Ra­mad­har will be con­test­ing the post of po­lit­i­cal leader of the Con­gress of the Peo­ple (COP) in the par­ty's up­com­ing in­ter­nal elec­tions.Ra­mad­har will be up against against MP for D'Abadie/O'Meara Anil Roberts and the par­ty's vice-chair­man Ver­non de Li­ma in the Ju­ly 3 par­ty elec­tions.He an­nounced his can­di­da­cy yes­ter­day, dur­ing a news con­fer­ence held at the COP flag­ship house, Broome Street, Wood­brook.His an­nounce­ment came days af­ter in­cum­bent COP po­lit­i­cal leader Win­ston Dook­er­an re­vealed that he would not be con­test­ing the lead­er­ship post.Ra­mad­har out­lined con­sti­tu­tion­al re­form, the de­vel­op­ment of leg­isla­tive agen­da of the COP and the de­vel­op­ment of ap­pro­pri­ate struc­tures to guide and de­fine roles with­in the Peo­ple's Part­ner­ship Gov­ern­ment as three of his main ob­jec­tives.
