For­mer prime min­is­ter Patrick Man­ning yes­ter­day called on Trans­port Min­is­ter Jack Warn­er to re­sign.Warn­er has been sus­pend­ed by world foot­ball body FI­FA af­ter al­le­ga­tions of bribery.Man­ning made the call as he ad­dressed a large crowd at Har­ris Prom­e­nade, San Fer­nan­do, at the cul­mi­na­tion of his sev­en-day walk against his sus­pen­sion from Par­lia­ment two Mon­days ago.He charged that Warn­er's "con­duct has not been a cred­it to T&T and he ought to demit of­fice as fast as pos­si­ble, pend­ing the in­ves­ti­ga­tion."He added that if Warn­er failed to do so, then Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar must re­move him forth­with from the Cab­i­net.He said, how­ev­er, that Per­sad-Bisses­sar might be "afraid to do so, since Warn­er claimed he had files on all of them.Man­ning said when he was sus­pend­ed from Par­lia­ment, he walked from Port-of- Spain to San Fer­nan­do.Now that Warn­er was sus­pend­ed as FI­FA's vice-pres­i­dent in Zurich, he said, "Let me see my boy walk."Al­so at­tend­ing the pub­lic meet­ing were PNM MPs Ali­cia Hospedales and Dr Amery Browne, and for­mer min­is­ters Mustapha Ab­dul-Hamid and Gary Hunt.
