Some $300 mil­lion has been al­lo­cat­ed in the 2012 bud­get for the projects un­der the Road In­fra­struc­ture Pro­gramme, in­clud­ing the con­struc­tion of pedes­tri­an over­pass­es at Wright­son Road, Movi­eTowne, Orop­une and Char­lieville.This is con­tained in the Pub­lic Sec­tor In­vest­ment Pro­gramme 2012.

Sev­er­al hun­dreds pedes­tri­ans tra­verse those busy ar­eas on a dai­ly ba­sis and there have been calls for the over­pass­es at those lo­ca­tions.The doc­u­ment sat­ed that ma­jor im­prove­ment works to the road net­work were planed for fis­cal 2012 and a to­tal of $772.8 mil­lion was al­lo­cat­ed for the projects.Ac­cord­ing to the PSIP, $30 mil­lion will go to­wards "new ini­tia­tives."
