Farrakhan comes to T&T this month

Na­tion of Is­lam leader Louis Far­rakhan will be vis­it­ing this coun­try from March 21 to 26. He is sched­uled to speak at the Uni­ver­si­ty of the West In­dies on March 24 and at NA­PA in Port-of-Spain on March 25. Both events start at 5 pm. Far­rakhan is al­so due to vis­it WACK Ra­dio 90.1FM in San Fer­nan­do and be in­ter­viewed by David Muham­mad on his Black Agen­da pro­gramme on March 22 from 8 pm to 10 pm. Dur­ing the five-day vis­it, Far­rakahn will meet var­i­ous po­lit­i­cal of­fi­cials and com­mu­ni­ty ac­tivists.

Far­rakhan last vis­it­ed Trinidad in Sep­tem­ber 1996 and ad­dressed close to 8,000 peo­ple at the Jean Pierre Com­plex and 1,500 at Shaw Park, To­ba­go. He al­so toured and met with res­i­dents at two sep­a­rate lo­ca­tions in Beetham Gar­dens and was greet­ed by politi­cians such as Patrick Man­ning, ANR Robin­son, Pen­ne­lope Beck­les, Fitzger­ald Hinds, Sadiq Baksh, John Ra­hael and Eu­lalie James. Far­rakhan al­so vis­it­ed Trinidad in 1975 and lec­tured at UWI, St Au­gus­tine and Queen's Hall as the na­tion­al rep­re­sen­ta­tive of then Na­tion of Is­lam leader Eli­jah Muham­mad. Louis Far­rakhan is prob­a­bly best known for lead­ing close to two mil­lion black men on the Mil­lion Man March on Oc­to­ber 16, 1995.
