Autopsies will be conducted today at the Forensic Science Centre, St James, on the bodies of two men killed in separate incidents on Saturday. The weekend killings have brought the murder toll to 358. Jesse James, 20, of School Street, Enterprise, was shot dead while liming near his home around 9.30 pm.
James was standing at the corner of African Grounds and Enterprise Street, when a man, dressed in black, rode up to him on a motorcycle and opened fire, hitting him several times about the upper body. As the injured man fell to the ground, the gunman drove off. James was taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility where he died around 9.45 pm. Officers from the Southern Homicide Bureau are continuing enquiries.
Meanwhile, in another incident around 10.40 pm, Belmont police officers responded to a report of loud music coming from a house at Upper Belmont Valley Road. Upon arrival at the house, officers discovered the body of Wallace "Bulls" Williams, 59, of St Lucien Road, Belmont, lying in a pool of blood in the driveway.
Wallace, a proprietor, had injuries to the right side of the face and a single stab wound to the chest. The district medical officer, Dr Kenneth Chai Hong, visited the scene and pronounced Williams dead. Up to yesterday, officers had not yet established a motive for the killing as Williams was not known to police. Cpl De Gale of the Belmont Police Station is continuing investigations.
