Mo­torists trav­el­ling along the Beetham High­way, en­ter­ing and leav­ing Port-of-Spain, are be­ing urged to dri­ve with ex­treme cau­tion due to poor vis­i­bil­i­ty as thick smoke from a bush fire blan­ket­ed the area.

Fire of­fi­cers from the Wright­son Road Fire Sta­tion are on the scene at­tempt­ing to ex­tin­guish the blaze, which ig­nit­ed less than one hour ago.

Some mo­torists were seen slow­ing down, al­most to a com­plete halt.

Po­lice were al­so on the scene to en­sure the safe­ty of mo­torists.
