35 new cases 62 recoveries from COVID-19 in Tobago

Over the past 24 hours, some 35 new pos­i­tive cas­es of COVID-19 have been re­port­ed in To­ba­go.  There are now 503 cur­rent ac­tive in­fec­tions on the is­land.

That’s ac­cord­ing to the lat­est up­date from the Di­vi­sion of Health, Well­ness and So­cial Pro­tec­tion, in the To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA), dat­ed Wednes­day 25 May 2022.

The re­port al­so shows that while peo­ple in To­ba­go con­tin­ue to be in­fect­ed with COVID-19, many pre­vi­ous­ly in­fect­ed peo­ple are re­cov­er­ing from the dis­ease, as an­oth­er 62 peo­ple were cer­ti­fied as re­cov­ered from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.

That means at present, the to­tal num­ber of peo­ple in To­ba­go who have re­cov­ered from COVID-19 since March 2020, now stands at 8,835.

In ad­di­tion, the THA Health Di­vi­sion re­port notes that no new deaths from the dis­ease have been record­ed over the past 24 hours.

The most re­cent death was re­port­ed on Fri­day 20 May 2022, with an un­vac­ci­nat­ed per­son iden­ti­fied as the de­ceased on that date.  As such, the is­land’s death toll from COVID-19 re­mains at 268.

The To­ba­go COVID-19 up­date for 25 May 2022 al­so says that 11 peo­ple cur­rent­ly are hos­pi­talised with COVID-19.  Six of these pa­tients have not been vac­ci­nat­ed at all against the dis­ease, while the oth­er five pa­tients have been ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed.
