Most Trinis know Bajan Queen of Soca Alison Hinds as the voice of Carnival in the early 2000’s and her mega hits like “Roll It Gal” and “Faluma” still resonate with soca lovers today.
The 48-year-old spoke to Guardian Media Limited during her concert “Faluma” at Ohana Restaurant in Chaguanas recently and shared the following tidbits about herself.w
Five things you didn’t know about Alison Hinds:
1- Her taste is food is simple and inherently Caribbean- she loves any type of seafood and vegetables.
2- She is off the wall about cheese and gushes that she loves it…*same Alison!
3- Until recently, she didn’t like to cook. Alison said now, she is learning to love it and cooks “simple” meals like brown rice, fried fish with vegetables on the side. She also loves making pasta dishes for her daughter, Saharan.
4- She loves horror! The Bajan soca queen is a huge Stephen King fan and boasts about having almost all of King’s 89 books.
5- Her favourite soca song for 2019 is Savannah Grass by Kes The Band!
