57 more people recover from COVID-19 in Tobago

…but in­fec­tions con­tin­ue as 61 more test pos­i­tive

Some 57 per­sons have been cer­ti­fied as re­cov­ered from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, while an­oth­er 61 per­sons have test­ed pos­i­tive for the dis­ease, in To­ba­go.

That’s ac­cord­ing to the lat­est up­date from the Di­vi­sion of Health, Well­ness and So­cial Pro­tec­tion, in the To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA), dat­ed Thurs­day 19 May 2022.

The lat­est re­cov­er­ies mean that at present, the to­tal num­ber of peo­ple in To­ba­go who have re­cov­ered from COVID-19 since March 2020, now stands at 8,612.

How­ev­er, the most re­cent in­fec­tions have moved the num­ber of ac­tive in­fec­tions on the is­land cur­rent­ly to 518.

In ad­di­tion, the THA Health Di­vi­sion re­port notes that no new deaths from the dis­ease have been record­ed over the past 24 hours.

The most re­cent death was re­port­ed a week ago, on Thurs­day 12 May 2022, with an un­vac­ci­nat­ed per­son iden­ti­fied as the de­ceased on that date.  As such, the is­land’s death toll from COVID-19 re­mains at 267.

The To­ba­go COVID-19 up­date for 19 May 2022 al­so says that 14 peo­ple cur­rent­ly are hos­pi­talised with COVID-19, down from Wednes­day’s to­tal of 19. 

Of the 14 pa­tients cur­rent­ly hos­pi­talised, sev­en have not been vac­ci­nat­ed at all against the dis­ease, while the oth­er sev­en pa­tients have been ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed.
