The $85 million Scarborough RC primary school, which was commissioned last August, reopened on Monday.
However, the $3 million repairs to the floor are ongoing.
The slippery floor tiles, which resulted in at least five children and two teachers seeking medical attention after they fell on them, have been removed.
According to Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association's (TTUTA)Tobago representative Orlando Kerr the formerly tiled floor has been cleaned.
"All preliminary indications are that the school can be occupied by the children and staff. I visited the school and the area is clear and clean as the concrete floor has been washed," Kerr told Guardian Media.
He could not say when the work will continue and was awaiting official word from the Division of Education.
Guardian Media understands that the Division is still sourcing the material required to replace the tiles.
Calls to Chief Secretary and Secretary of Education Kelvin Charles have not been answered.
Other Tobago schools opened last Wednesday, a day later than national schools, as Easter Tuesday- the day of Buccoo Goat and Crab race festival - is an unofficial Tobago holiday.
