Active COVID-19 cases in Tobago fall, even as 27 new cases recorded

Some 27 peo­ple in To­ba­go have test­ed pos­i­tive for COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, but the num­ber of cur­rent ac­tive in­fec­tions on the is­land con­tin­ues to fall, with the lat­est to­tal be­ing 403 per­sons ac­tive­ly in­fect­ed.

That’s ac­cord­ing to the lat­est up­date from Di­vi­sion of Health, Well­ness and So­cial Pro­tec­tion, in the To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA), dat­ed Thurs­day 31st March 2022.

The re­port al­so notes that no new deaths from COVID-19 have been record­ed in To­ba­go over the past 24 hours, so the is­land’s death toll re­mains at 258 lives lost.

The most re­cent death on the is­land was record­ed on Mon­day 28 March 2022—one (1) un­vac­ci­nat­ed per­son was record­ed as the de­ceased on that date.

The Health Di­vi­sion al­so is re­port­ing that 16 peo­ple cur­rent­ly are hos­pi­talised with COVID-19.  Thir­teen (13) of these pa­tients have not been vac­ci­nat­ed at all against the dis­ease, while the oth­er three (3) have been ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed.

The To­ba­go COVID-19 up­date for 31st March 2022 al­so notes that at present, the to­tal num­ber of peo­ple in To­ba­go who have re­cov­ered from COVID-19 since March 2020, now stands at 7,488.
