Associated Brands signs MOA with Habitat for Humanity

As­so­ci­at­ed Brands In­dus­tries Lim­it­ed (ABIL) has signed a Mem­o­ran­dum of Agree­ment (MOA) with NGO, Habi­tat for Hu­man­i­ty Trinidad and To­ba­go (Habi­tat TT). The part­ner­ship is aimed at neigh­bour­hood re­vi­tal­iza­tion, dis­as­ter re­silien­cy and the pro­vi­sion of shel­ter ac­cess to the most vul­ner­a­ble.

The (MOA) be­tween ABIL and Habi­tat TT was signed on April 27 with APIL pledg­ing to in­vest a to­tal of TT$1 mil­lion over a three-year pe­ri­od which will en­able hous­ing so­lu­tions through re­pairs, com­mu­ni­ty projects and train­ing of com­mu­ni­ty mem­bers with a fo­cus on dis­as­ter mit­i­ga­tion and build­ing re­silient com­mu­ni­ties.

ABIL Group CEO/Deputy Chair­man Nicholas Lok Jack said, “As part of our mis­sion to achieve so­cial sus­tain­abil­i­ty, ABIL has pledged to em­pow­er our com­mu­ni­ties and em­ploy­ees through this ef­fort. We are pleased to sup­port the im­por­tant work of Habi­tat for Hu­man­i­ty who con­tin­u­ous­ly im­pact and im­prove liveli­hoods through their com­mu­ni­ty work.”

Der­win How­ell, Chair­man of Habi­tat TT added, “Hun­dreds of vul­ner­a­ble fam­i­lies and com­mu­ni­ties will be trans­formed with the im­por­tant work we un­der­take with this part­ner­ship. Our mis­sion at Habi­tat TT is to im­prove our en­vi­ron­ment, mit­i­gate dis­as­ters and en­sure there are op­por­tu­ni­ties for sus­tain­able growth and de­vel­op­ment.”

Com­ment­ing on the al­liance, Sie­u­nar­ine Coos­al, Chair­man of the Cap­i­tal Cam­paign Cab­i­net of Habi­tat for Hu­man­i­ty stat­ed, “We are par­tic­u­lar­ly proud of the fund­ing we have re­ceived from ABIL which so­lid­i­fies our com­mit­ment to the de­vel­op­ment of com­mu­ni­ties.”

Lok Jack added, “Our com­mit­ment to our peo­ple, our com­mu­ni­ty and the na­tion res­onates in every­thing we do, and we re­main ded­i­cat­ed to en­rich­ing the na­tion through our cor­po­rate so­cial re­spon­si­bil­i­ty (CSR) ini­tia­tives.”

Lok Jack forms part of the Habi­tat’s Cap­i­tal Cam­paign Cab­i­net (CCC), a role he ac­cept­ed from his fa­ther, Mr. Arthur Lok Jack who al­so served for many years.
