A ban­dit es­caped with $12,000 dur­ing a rob­bery at a lot­to booth in La Ro­main over the week­end.

Po­lice said that around 11 am, a 20-year-old em­ploy­ee of Steve’s Bar & Lot­to Booth at South­ern Main Road went out­side to write the re­sults of the game on a board when a man came up be­hind her and or­dered her in­side the booth.

The man struck the booth at­ten­dant on her face and de­mand­ed that she open the safe. He stole $12,000 and the woman’s iPhone 10X then es­caped in a cream Nis­san Cube. Of­fi­cers from the San Fer­nan­do Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.—Sascha Wil­son
