Thinking he was carrying out a routine delivery, a Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) driver and his colleague had a scary encounter with bandits who robbed them of a Mega Meal and damaged his car.
Police said both victims were unhurt following the incident in Claxton Bay on Friday night.
A report stated that around 8.14 pm, a KFC operator informed the 30-year-old driver of an order for one 12-piece KFC Mega Meal with four biscuits and four fries valued at $240 for delivery to Lodge Ali Street, Pranz Gardens.
The driver left KFC St Margaret’s around 9.15 pm with a female colleague in the front seat of his white Nissan Tiida.
On arrival at Lodge Ali Street 10 minutes later, the driver called the phone number on the order. A short time later, three men, two with cutlasses and another with a firearm, approached the car.
The suspects robbed the driver of the meal, and one of them chopped the car’s rear bumper with his cutlass before running off.
Couva police responded to a report of an aggravated robbery and malicious damage.
However, they did not find the suspects up to yesterday. WPC Carter-Sammy is continuing investigations.
