One man was arrested, two pistols and quantities of ammunition seized, by officers of the Ste. Madeleine Police Station, during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Princes Town district
Officers conducted the exercise on Sunday during which they proceeded to a bushy area at St. Charles Road, Princes Town, where they found a makeshift camp occupied by one man.
A search of the camp resulted in officers finding a black bag containing a Sphinx pistol loaded with a magazine containing seven rounds of ammunition and a Beretta pistol also loaded with a magazine containing seven rounds of ammunition.
The suspect,a 41-year-old man of New Colonial Road, Barrackpore, was arrested in connection with the finds.
Investigations are ongoing.
