A well-known farmer and UNC ac­tivist from the Fe­lic­i­ty area in Ch­agua­nas, Dil­raj “Big Rock” Laloo died af­ter a bees at­tack on Fri­day morn­ing.

Laloo’s son, Kevin said his fa­ther was at the time cut­ting grass in the com­mu­ni­ty when he crossed a swarm of bees, which sud­den­ly at­tacked him about the body.

The younger Laloo said his 56-year-old fa­ther was tak­en to the Ch­agua­nas Health Fa­cil­i­ty where he was pro­nounced dead.

Laloo’s close friend, Sen­a­tor Avinash Singh, Min­is­ter in the Min­istry of Agri­cul­ture, Land and Fish­eries ex­pressed shock at the news of his pass­ing.

“I just got the news that Rock a well-known farmer from Fe­lic­i­ty and my good friend wasn’t for­tu­nate as I was af­ter be­ing at­tacked by bees a short while ago. It was on­ly the day be­fore yes­ter­day Rock called me at 7 am to dis­cuss some agri­cul­tur­al mat­ters. Rest In Peace, my broth­er.”

The Unit­ed Na­tion­al Con­gress has ex­tend­ed its deep­est con­do­lences to the Laloo’s fam­i­ly.

“Mr Dil­raj Laloo was a UNC stal­wart and ded­i­cat­ed ac­tivist in the con­stituen­cy of Ch­agua­nas West, a pil­lar of the com­mu­ni­ty in Fe­lic­i­ty will al­ways be re­mem­bered for his strong ac­tivism and ded­i­ca­tion. May his soul rest in eter­nal peace and his fam­i­ly be giv­en the strength and courage dur­ing this time of be­reave­ment,” the UNCs state­ment read.
