A 16-year-old boy from Chatham Village, Cedros, escaped death after two gunmen opened fire on him.
The teenager was shot twice but did not suffer any life-threatening injuries.
Police said at 6.30 pm Monday, the teen was walking along Sunset Beach Road in Point Fortin when he saw two men with their faces covered walking from the side of a house.
Each man was armed with a gun. They pointed the weapons at him and opened fire. He got shot in his left ankle and right instep. The suspects then ran off. The 16-year-old was taken to the Point Fortin Hospital where he was treated and kept for observation.
Officers from the Point Fortin Police Station are investigating.
