BP Rene­gades has topped the pre­lim­i­nary stage of the Panora­ma com­pe­ti­tion with 268 points.

The re­sults were re­leased yes­ter­day. it came af­ter judges vis­it­ed sev­er­al pa­n­yards on Tues­day night.

In sec­ond place was Re­pub­lic Bank Ex­o­dus with 266.5, fol­lowed by Massy Trinidad All Stars scor­ing 265.

They were fol­lowed by Had­co Phase ii, 263; Pro­man Star­lift/ Shell In­vaders, 257; Skif­fle/Nu­trien Sil­ver Stars, 256; T&TEC Trop­i­cal An­gel Harps, 255; FC Su­per­novas, 254; NL­CB Fon­claire, 253; Des­per­a­does/Buc­cooneers, 252; RBC Re­demp­tion Set­ters, 251; Har­monites, 242; NGC La Brea Nightin­gales, 235; and Bird­song, 209.

Rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the 14 large bands par­tic­i­pat­ed in a draw for po­si­tions yes­ter­day.

When the bands square off in the Panora­ma se­mi fi­nals on Sun­day, NL­CB Fon­claire will per­form first while BP Rene­gades will play last.

Twelve bands will ad­vance to the fi­nals.

Pantrin­ba­go pres­i­dent Bev­er­ly Ram­sey-Moore said, “Usu­al­ly it’s ten, now as we cel­e­brate our di­a­mond ju­bilee 12 bands will be mov­ing ahead.”

Com­ment­ing on the pa­n­yard judg­ing, Ram­sey-Moore said, “What we saw pro­duced in the pa­n­yards, it was re­al­ly heart­warm­ing.”

In the medi­um cat­e­go­ry, Katzen­jam­mers Steel Or­ches­tra placed first with 275 points.

Pan El­ders Steel Or­ches­tra will lead off the com­pe­ti­tion in that cat­e­go­ry.

The com­pe­ti­tion is sched­uled to start at 1 pm on Sun­day.
