BP Renegades has topped the preliminary stage of the Panorama competition with 268 points.
The results were released yesterday. it came after judges visited several panyards on Tuesday night.
In second place was Republic Bank Exodus with 266.5, followed by Massy Trinidad All Stars scoring 265.
They were followed by Hadco Phase ii, 263; Proman Starlift/ Shell Invaders, 257; Skiffle/Nutrien Silver Stars, 256; T&TEC Tropical Angel Harps, 255; FC Supernovas, 254; NLCB Fonclaire, 253; Desperadoes/Buccooneers, 252; RBC Redemption Setters, 251; Harmonites, 242; NGC La Brea Nightingales, 235; and Birdsong, 209.
Representatives from the 14 large bands participated in a draw for positions yesterday.
When the bands square off in the Panorama semi finals on Sunday, NLCB Fonclaire will perform first while BP Renegades will play last.
Twelve bands will advance to the finals.
Pantrinbago president Beverly Ramsey-Moore said, “Usually it’s ten, now as we celebrate our diamond jubilee 12 bands will be moving ahead.”
Commenting on the panyard judging, Ramsey-Moore said, “What we saw produced in the panyards, it was really heartwarming.”
In the medium category, Katzenjammers Steel Orchestra placed first with 275 points.
Pan Elders Steel Orchestra will lead off the competition in that category.
The competition is scheduled to start at 1 pm on Sunday.
