Bur­glars broke in­to Thack­o­or­dass Ser­vice Sta­tion in Gon­za­les Vil­lage, Guapo, on Wednes­day night, try­ing to get their hands on a se­cu­ri­ty safe box.

But de­spite their ef­forts to breach it, they left emp­ty-hand­ed.

Po­lice said the alarm was raised around 3:39 am on Thurs­day when an anony­mous caller alert­ed the Guapo Po­lice Sta­tion. PC Ma­haraj, PC Ramkaran, PC Sam­lal, and WPC Reg­is re­spond­ed.

When they ar­rived, the man­ag­er Bran­don Thack­o­or­dass re­port­ed the sta­tion’s alarm and CCTV sys­tem had alert­ed him that in­trud­ers were in­side the build­ing.

The of­fi­cers in­spect­ed the premis­es and found that all doors, win­dows, and walls were in­tact. How­ev­er, there was a hole in the ceil­ing which the bur­glars used to get in­side.

In­side Room One, po­lice dis­cov­ered the se­cu­ri­ty safe box.

The bur­glars had shift­ed the safe from its po­si­tion and at­tempt­ed to cut it open, leav­ing vis­i­ble marks from their tools. De­spite their at­tempts, the safe re­mained sealed, and noth­ing was stolen.

Of­fi­cers from the South West­ern Di­vi­sion­al Task Force car­ried out a search for the sus­pects, but the cul­prits man­aged to evade cap­ture.
