A Chaguanas man has appeared before a Master of the High Court on Monday, charged with the murder of Jaheem Lewis, which occurred on March 31, 2024.
The accused, 29-year-old KARINME GARDNER (also known as “Coco”) of Enterprise, was charged with the offence when he appeared before Master De Silva in the High Court on April 15, 2024.
The Police Service says Gardner’s Sufficiency Hearing is set for October 30, 2024.
Reports are that 18-year-old Jaheem Lewis, of Enterprise, Chaguanas, was shot along the roadway at Bhagaloo Street, on March 31, 2024.
He was taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility where he later died.
One male suspect was arrested in connection with the matter by officers of the Chaguanas Criminal Investigations Department, on April 9, 2024.
Gardner was charged last Friday (April 12, 2024), following advice received from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Sabrina Dougdeen-Jaglal on that same date.
He will next face the courts on October 30, 2024.
