Mem­ber of Par­lia­ment for Na­pari­ma, Rod­ney Charles MP, has re­newed his call for Prime Min­is­ter Dr Kei­th Row­ley to re­lease the list of donors fund­ing the Bal­isi­er House ren­o­va­tion project.

Charles said in a state­ment:

"It is now be­come pel­lu­cid­ly clear that fund­ing for the project may have slowed in part due to con­cerns that monies from ques­tion­able sources… may be laun­dered through the project."

The re­lease is­sued by the Na­pari­ma MP on Sat­ur­day fur­ther stat­ed:

"This is why MP Charles is call­ing for this gov­ern­ment to im­me­di­ate­ly pri­or­i­tize two pieces of leg­is­la­tion that will stop al­le­ga­tions such as those be­ing made against Bal­isi­er House fund­ing. These are com­pre­hen­sive Pro­cure­ment Leg­is­la­tion and Cam­paign Fi­nance Re­form."

The UNC has called on the Fi­nan­cial In­tel­li­gence Unit (FIU), the Counter-Traf­fick­ing Unit (CTU) and Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice Er­la Christo­pher, to in­ves­ti­gate.
