Coast Guard shuts down party

The Coast Guard in­ter­cept­ed a par­ty boat with 76 peo­ple on board who were head­ed Down The Is­lands yes­ter­day. Fol­low­ing a re­port of an over­loaded mo­tor ves­sel slip­ping berth from Al­can Bay, Ch­aguara­mas, Coast Guard of­fi­cers in­ter­cept­ed and es­cort­ed the ves­sel back to the bay where a head­count was done. On­board were 40 fe­males and 36 males who were hand­ed over to the po­lice. In a re­lease, the Coast Guard re­mind­ed cit­i­zens and oth­er mar­itime users that un­der cur­rent Pub­lic Health Or­di­nance “it is il­le­gal to be part of any gath­er­ing ex­ceed­ing ten peo­ple whilst en­gaged in any mar­itime ac­tiv­i­ty.”
