Acting Commissioner of Police Mc Donald Jacob has granted permission to the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Advocacy Network to host a Peaceful March on Friday 30th September, 2022, from 9:45 am to 12:30 pm.
Additionally, approval has been granted to restrict the use of the roadway by vehicles, in accordance with Section 68 (1) of the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act Chapter 48:50.
The Acting CoP notes that organisers of the peaceful march must comply with all directions given by all uniformed Police Officers on duty.
It is noted that Vehicular Traffic will be Restricted on the following streets:
Starting west onto Neverson Street turning right onto Bridge Road and turning left (west) onto the Eastern Main Road.
West along the Eastern Main Road turning right (north) onto Broadway and turning left (west) onto Independence Square South.
Along Independence Square South and continuing west along Independence Square unto the western end of the Brian Lara Promenade in the vicinity of the Eric Williams Financial Complex, where it will conclude.
CoP Ag Jacob reiterates that the Peaceful March is scheduled to conclude at 12:30 pm at the Brian Lara Promenade, and as such thereafter all participants must disperse peacefully.
