Act­ing Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice Mc Don­ald Ja­cob has grant­ed per­mis­sion to the Trinidad and To­ba­go Civ­il Ad­vo­ca­cy Net­work to host a Peace­ful March on Fri­day 30th Sep­tem­ber, 2022, from 9:45 am to 12:30 pm.

Ad­di­tion­al­ly, ap­proval has been grant­ed to re­strict the use of the road­way by ve­hi­cles, in ac­cor­dance with Sec­tion 68 (1) of the Mo­tor Ve­hi­cle and Road Traf­fic Act Chap­ter 48:50.

The Act­ing CoP notes that or­gan­is­ers of the peace­ful march must com­ply with all di­rec­tions giv­en by all uni­formed Po­lice Of­fi­cers on du­ty.

It is not­ed that Ve­hic­u­lar Traf­fic will be Re­strict­ed on the fol­low­ing streets:

  Start­ing west on­to Nev­er­son Street turn­ing right on­to Bridge Road and turn­ing left (west) on­to the East­ern Main Road.

  West along the East­ern Main Road turn­ing right (north) on­to Broad­way and turn­ing left (west) on­to In­de­pen­dence Square South.

  Along In­de­pen­dence Square South and con­tin­u­ing west along In­de­pen­dence Square un­to the west­ern end of the Bri­an Lara Prom­e­nade in the vicin­i­ty of the Er­ic Williams Fi­nan­cial Com­plex, where it will con­clude.

CoP Ag Ja­cob re­it­er­ates that the Peace­ful March is sched­uled to con­clude at 12:30 pm at the Bri­an Lara Prom­e­nade, and as such there­after all par­tic­i­pants must dis­perse peace­ful­ly.
