Police Commissioner Erla Harewood-Christopher yesterday congratulated her officers for what she said was outstanding policing that contributed to a safe and successful 2024 Tobago Carnival for some 8,000-plus revellers.
In a media release, the top cop said, “The Tobago Carnival 2024 exemplified the dedication, teamwork and professionalism of officers and was a true showcase of what can be achieved through collaboration, diligence, and a shared sense of responsibility.”
She said this was achieved through the “outstanding leadership” of DCP Suzette Martin and the Incident Command Team of ACPs Collis Hazel and Oswain Subero and Snr Supt Earl Elie.
“I commend every officer who contributed to making these festivities safe and enjoyable. I also wish to expressly thank everyone involved in helping us achieve our mission of giving our residents and visitors a memorable and safe Tobago Carnival experience. The cooperation of the many officers on the ground, provided the framework for an effective security blanket, making it possible for the over 8,000 participants to celebrate safely.”
Harewood-Christopher added that officers from various divisions, branches, and sections from Trinidad supplemented manpower and supported their colleagues in delivering a safe Carnival. She said this collective effort underscores the TTPS’ ongoing commitment to public safety.
