Po­lice Com­mis­sion­er Er­la Hare­wood-Christo­pher yes­ter­day con­grat­u­lat­ed her of­fi­cers for what she said was out­stand­ing polic­ing that con­tributed to a safe and suc­cess­ful 2024 To­ba­go Car­ni­val for some 8,000-plus rev­ellers.

In a me­dia re­lease, the top cop said, “The To­ba­go Car­ni­val 2024 ex­em­pli­fied the ded­i­ca­tion, team­work and pro­fes­sion­al­ism of of­fi­cers and was a true show­case of what can be achieved through col­lab­o­ra­tion, dili­gence, and a shared sense of re­spon­si­bil­i­ty.”

She said this was achieved through the “out­stand­ing lead­er­ship” of DCP Suzette Mar­tin and the In­ci­dent Com­mand Team of ACPs Col­lis Hazel and Os­wain Subero and Snr Supt Earl Elie.

“I com­mend every of­fi­cer who con­tributed to mak­ing these fes­tiv­i­ties safe and en­joy­able. I al­so wish to ex­press­ly thank every­one in­volved in help­ing us achieve our mis­sion of giv­ing our res­i­dents and vis­i­tors a mem­o­rable and safe To­ba­go Car­ni­val ex­pe­ri­ence. The co­op­er­a­tion of the many of­fi­cers on the ground, pro­vid­ed the frame­work for an ef­fec­tive se­cu­ri­ty blan­ket, mak­ing it pos­si­ble for the over 8,000 par­tic­i­pants to cel­e­brate safe­ly.”

Hare­wood-Christo­pher added that of­fi­cers from var­i­ous di­vi­sions, branch­es, and sec­tions from Trinidad sup­ple­ment­ed man­pow­er and sup­port­ed their col­leagues in de­liv­er­ing a safe Car­ni­val. She said this col­lec­tive ef­fort un­der­scores the TTPS’ on­go­ing com­mit­ment to pub­lic safe­ty.
