The country’s murder count went up by three between Tuesday and Wednesday after three young men were killed, bringing the tally to 406 for the year so far.
In the first incident on Tuesday evening, residents of Valencia Old Road in Valencia heard several loud explosions just after 7 pm.
Upon checking, they found three people bleeding from gunshot wounds.
They were all taken to the Sangre Grande Hospital, where Michael Trancoso, 26, died. A 29-year-old man also remains in critical condition at the hospital.
Approximately one hour later in Enterprise, Chaguanas, Dillon Lewis, 31, of Walcott Lane, was shot dead. He was near a bar at Chrissie Terrace when gunshots were heard. When people checked they found Lewis, also known as “Toe Toe,” with a gunshot wound to the head. He died at the scene.
And just after 2 pm yesterday, Tester Sutherland, 20, was shot dead at Plover Crescent, Maloney. According to police reports, residents heard rapid gunfire and when they checked, they found Sutherland suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He also died on the scene.
