A San Juan man drowned while at Tyri­co Bay yes­ter­day.

Po­lice re­port­ed that around 1.30 pm, the man, iden­ti­fied as Gor­don Frim­pong, was pulled out of the wa­ter by life­guards af­ter dis­ap­pear­ing un­der the waves.

Life­guards at the beach tried un­suc­cess­ful­ly to re­sus­ci­tate Frim­pong.

Po­lice said Frim­pong was from Suri­name. How­ev­er, his Face­book page said he was from Berekum, Ghana. His Face­book pro­file al­so said he was a dig­i­tal cre­ator who lived in Port-of-Spain. —Jensen La Vende
