At least six maxi-taxis and mi­ni-bus­es were seized by po­lice as part of en­quiries in­to a car theft ring in Ari­ma yes­ter­day af­ter­noon.

Po­lice said of­fi­cers of the St Joseph CID and two wreck­ers vis­it­ed a garage at Sama­roo Vil­lage, Ari­ma, just af­ter 3 pm, where they seized the ve­hi­cles.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said two trips were re­quired to tow the ve­hi­cles to the po­lice sta­tion for fur­ther analy­sis.

No one has been ar­rest­ed as part of the en­quiries. How­ev­er, a source said the in­ves­ti­ga­tion will like­ly span mul­ti­ple po­lice dis­tricts and need as­sis­tance from oth­er po­lice units.
