A firearm, 25 rounds of ammunition and 1,494 grams of marijuana were found and seized in Central Division by officers of the Central Division Task Force and Las Lomas Police Station during anticrime exercises last evening.
During the exercise officers proceeded to the Vendor’s Mall, Chaguanas, a search was conducted on the compound and a quantity of marijuana was found.
The marijuana was weighed and totalled 1,494 grammes with an estimated street value of TT$12000.
No one was arrested for the find.
Additionally, officers of the Las Lomas Police Station during an intelligence-led exercise proceeded to Narindeth Trace, Las Lomas where they observed a man running through the bushes near an abandoned concrete structure.
Officers made checks to the area and found a plastic bag containing one Jennings 9mm pistol fitted with magazine and two rounds 9mm ammunition also a white plastic bag containing 25 rounds .40 calibre ammunition.
The items were secured and taken possession of.
No arrests were made during the find.
