The Daren Ganga Foundation hosted its first annual Christmas dinner, An evening of Celebration and Appreciation, on Thursday at the Petrotrin Staff Club, Pointe-a-Pierre. The holiday spirit filled the room amidst twinkling lights, festive wreaths and the glowing faces of the 15 scholarship winners, in whose honour the dinner was held.
President of the Foundation, Sheldon Ganga said the event was a red letter day and the purpose of the Foundation was to assist youths in realising their full potential. "These young deserving people" he continued, "are the stars of tomorrow who ought to grasp the opportunities presented to them with both hands and use the Foundation as a stepping stone."
Sheldon expressed his admiration for his brother, Daren who "recognised and appreciated that the success of an individual was influenced and supported by a strong network of family, friends, community and full on co-operation". Executive chairman of the Foundation, Daren Ganga described the event as "a dream come true." He pledged his commitment to the Foundation and described the 15 scholarship winners as the "stars and pioneers of the programme."
