National Security Minister Martin Joseph is expected to respond during today's Senate session on Government's failure to provide adequate security measures for the country, amidst a deteriorating crime situation.
Leader of Opposition Business in the Senate, Wade Mark, has been granted leave by the President of the Senate to raise this and another matter on the adjournment of the Upper House. That segment of the Senate's agenda is at the end of the session.
Joseph has also been called upon to respond on Government's failure to "legalise" the Special Anti-Crime Unit of T&T, which had been promised for some time. Mark has also called on Attorney General John Jeremie to respond on Government's failure to appoint a Solicitor General. The position has been vacant since 2005.
