?Police raided a popular Chaguanas hotel yesterday, and arrested four Guyanese men and 18 women from Santo Domingo, Venezuela and Colombia. The women, aged 18 to 28, were arrested on a range of offences, including illegal entry, tampering with legal documents, breach of deportation orders, and over-staying their time.
Investigators said between 10 pm and 2 am, officers from the Port-of-Spain Task Force, led by Supt Hackett, and including Sgts Gary Edwards and Mervyn Edwards, Cpl Adjodha, Cpl Lucian and Immigration Officer Rudy Maharaj, went to the hotel at Chase Village, Chaguanas. They found several of the foreigners in possession of passports and fraudulent stamps.
