Two more guns found
Two more illegal guns have been found hidden at the St Joseph Police Station. This is the second time within three weeks that illegal guns have been found at the station. On August 8, officers of the Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) raided the station and found four pistols, two shotguns a quantity of ammunition and narcotics hidden in the ceiling and dormitory areas at the CID office.
Two days after the discovery, close to 60 officers from the station were reassigned to other stations within the division. A few days later, cocaine and marijuana which were exhibits in a court case and was ordered destroyed by a magistrate was found at the home of a police corporal who was among those transferred from the St Joseph Police Station.
The officer was arrested by officers of the CIU but has since been released pending further investigations. Around 10 pm on Wednesday, a shotgun was found hidden behind the property box at the station. The discovery was made by officers assigned to the station. A similar weapon was also found near a sink. Following the seizure, the station was searched by senior officers. Officers who were recently assigned to the station have described the find as “remnants” from the August 8 bust.
What the...? Only 2?
What the...? Only 2? Remnants...? Easy excuse.

Seems that the two times
Seems that the two times officers found guns and illegal stuff because of a tip off.
Why can't they just search the entire premises, including the derelict vehicles, for any contraband items? I'm sure that much more items would be found.

Hide and Go Seek:- What's
Hide and Go Seek:-
What's really going on? Can someone be honest with the public?
I was under the impression, misguided it may be, that we hired men and women, trained them and send them out to work as Police Officers - and in accordance with their Oath - To Serve and Protect the citizens of this country.
Some of our senior gov't officials are famous for their denials that crime was growing rapidly, and strangling the lifeblood out of our people. Honourable mention goes to Mr. Manning, Knowlton Gift, Martin Joseph and yes, Mr. Donaldson. among others. ...
If our officers are of the opinion that there are no crime for them to control, some may believe that they had better get involved in another profession - that of being an entrepreneur - in the business of dealing in illegal guns and drugs and other criminals acts, on time paid for by the taxpayers.
These officers are guilty of gross 'misbehaviour' and illegal acts, and so to are the officers who are privy to these violations and kept quiet for reasons unknown. Recently Clevon Raphael raised the question of whether or not we were a people lacking in courage. To you officers who 'see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil', its time you come out of your shell. Many of you will be leaving behind offsprings - and you owe them the right to live in safety and security, among other things. These 'crooked' cops have become so brazen that they have converted their police stations into a 'House of Guns and Drugs' - illegal mind you. They hide the guns and drugs, and other officers are assigned the duties to go seek them out. This time could be better spent out on the streets protecting our citizens.
We are asked to work with the police if we want to reduce crime, but how can we do so when the very officers we may turn to are themselves no better than the criminals outside who are terrorising us. When we have lost faith in our Protective Service, where in heaven's name should we turn. Mr. Williams must be glad that Mr. Manning pulled the rug from under him when he refused to approve his selection for the position of Comm. of Police, one he was screened and interviewed for and even reference checked by the Commission.
Mr. Manning, purchasing 4 'birds in the sky' will not only further exhaust whats left of our resources, but we do not have confidence that it will fight crime in T&T - past experience, a valuable teacher. You have to invest from the ground up - new recruits, upgrade systems. vehicles, full complement of staff, firm discipline, top notch supervision and on-going training, etc. And how about hiring some of our qualified, experienced and 'country first' citizens as consultants to guide this 'misguided' gov't in the right direction in fighting crime. Foreigners, may have experience, they may make you feel 'nice' but bottom line it is a JOB for them - they advise, get paid, and fly out. Our locals have to live here and it is their country and will give their blood and sweat to protect it. How about it Mr. Manning?
"Remnants"?? Wasn't the
"Remnants"?? Wasn't the station thoroughly searched in the first instance?
'Cash for triggers'
'Cash for triggers' programme wanted in the police service. Look, Commish, declare a illegal gun amnesty on your boys and girls and tell them to bring in all the illegal firearms and ammunition and drugs they have in they house or bury in they or they neighbout backyard. Give them solid cash for it. Doh wait, people done lose confidence in allyou already.
