Published: 14 Sep 2009

An Arima pensioner was found dead, dozens of miles away from his home, on the jetty of Kings Wharf, San Fernando, yesterday. Police believe Isaac Gobin, 79, of 13 Orange Court, Santa Rosa Heights, Arima, died while walking on the jetty, close to the Customs and Excise office. Resident Alexander Gibbs told police he was walking on the jetty around 6 am when he saw Gobin lying on his side.
The pensioner's walking stick and black cap were found next to his body.

Investigators believe Gobin may have suffered a massive heart attack. Dr Kiran Nakkana Premand viewed the body and ordered it removed to San Fernando mortuary. Police said Gobin had a gash on his head. An autopsy will be done today. ASP Cecil Santana, PCs Jason Daly and Fazir Sulliman visited the scene and are continuing investigations.
