Tyrone Randy Brown
aka “T” and “Spoon”

A man wanted by police in connection with more than 20 murders in the Port-of-Spain Division was among two people shot and killed during a confrontation with police at Sawmill Avenue, Morvant, yesterday.

The shooting took place in a house at the corner of Small and Garrick Streets. One of the victims has been identified as Tyrone Randy Brown. Brown, 29, of Gonzales, Belmont, and St Barbs Road, Laventille, was popularly known as “T” and “Spoon.” Up to late yesterday, the second victim remained unidentified. Both men died while undergoing emergency surgery at Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope. “We have been hunting Spoon for several years in connection with countless murders, but he somehow managed to elude capture,” said a police officer. Police said Brown was identified as one of the men involved in the killing of Sean Sandy and his girlfriend Avian Villafanna, 24, who were gunned down at their Hamlet Trace, St Barb’s, Laventille, home on November 28, 2006.
Officers at the Besson Street Police Station said Brown was the “main shooter” for the infamous “Sandy Brothers Gang,” but turned on the gang after a dispute. His face appeared in every “most wanted” poster issued by the T&T Police Service over the past few years.

Brown’s end came around 11.15 am yesterday, after he was cornered at a house in Morvant and killed during a reported shoot-out with officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force. Officers said a pistol and revolver were recovered from the scene. Hours earlier, police said, Brown and his accomplice managed to escape a police dragnet at Never Dirty, by hijacking a garbage truck and escaping into Sawmill Avenue. Police said Brown and a group of men shot at them and fled into nearby bushes around 7 pm in Never Dirty.
The Special Anti-Crime Unit, Criminal Intelligence Unit, North-Eastern Division and the Interagency Task Force had been conducting exercises in the area since Monday evening.

20 Murders???

Don't tell me, this guy scared his victims to death.

Jokes aside, I thank the Police for getting another criminal off the street. An we don't have to mind him for another 30 years while he "calls shot" while in prison.

His eyes are dead even

His eyes are dead even before the laid him to rest. There is absolutely nothing behind them.
I am sorry that another mother has to cry that we are plagued by another death by the gun, but on the other hand would they have been convicted of their crimes?.

He is just one of the many

He is just one of the many crminals that pounced on law abiding citizens in Trinidad , in the same breath there are probably 4-6 more ready to take his place...such a sad state of affairs our country has been allowed to develop.

the finance minister is defending the budget tooth and nail when she knows deep down inside that her gov't has not done a single thing to address the serious day to day needs of mr. & mrs. Joe Public.

There is so much that people can take and then there is the breaking point which is where most of us are , manning has removed all that oppose him within the pnm and replaced them with inexperienced morons who will move mountains to to please him.

I say to manning and the rest of the pnm that your days are numbered...manning will fall and his corrupt practices will be exposed...I look forward to that day...it is coming...I just cannot understand how his supporters can be so arrogant to support the pnm for so many years and not have the basic needs of life...are they really that stupid or just don't care ?

Criminals have been allowed free reign of terror...they must be made to suffer the consequences of their actions...and we know that the pnm are not capable of bringing this to pass...neither the opposition sad to say...they are too busy with internal power struggles...it is so sickening...then who? the COP ? maybe...I feel a new set of fresh faces , new ideas , a new way of doing things...those who would listen to the cries of the people...after all we would be their boss !
