One dead, 4 wounded in two shootings
The murder toll moved to 413 Tuesday night, after the killing of a 33-year-old Morvant man. Police said Bane Joseph, of Pelican Extension, was standing at the corner of Leotaud and Parris Streets in Morvant around 9 pm when a man accosted, and shot him several times about the body.
Joseph died on the scene. Some two hours before Joseph’s killing, scores of spectators at a small goal football match were forced to scamper for safety when gunmen opened fire on a group of men in Laventille. Four men were wounded.
Police said around 7 pm, three gunmen stormed a basketball court at Trou Macaque while the match was in progress. The four people who were injured were identified as Dillon Ferdinand, 22, Lyndon Charles, 23, Natisa Benicourt, 19, and Keith Harris, 22. The men underwent emergency surgery at Port-of-Spain General Hospital.
I see these guys are between
I see these guys are between the ages of 19 to 23 and live in Laventille. Will the police issue a statement that this is gang related, or were these boys just in the wrong place at the wrong time? The news on tv last night described one of the boys as waiting to go into the regiment. Does the recruitment officers know that there are a lot of young people outside these hot spots who also apply to join the armed services, but are rejected because they have no connection to get in?

There is Ethnic Cleansing in T&T, only it is black on black Ethnic Cleansing. Do we have to wait for PNM to be in opposition for our Black Leaders, be they Politician, Doctor, Professor, Lawyer or Priest, Pastor or Calypsonian to bring this up? Then we can blame the party in power.
