Murder accused asks for legal aid lawyer

A man charged with the murders of two Toco men has asked a Sangre Grande magistrate for a state-appointed attorney to represent him. Brian Marryshow, 28, a father of two, stood before Second Court magistrate Aden Stroude yesterday, charged with the murders of Sookdeo “Bill” Manohar, 76, and Sonny “Chief” Valentine, 50. Dressed in a white T-shirt and three-quarters pants, Marryshow, who has addresses at Morne Cabrite Trace, Cumana Village, Toco, and Henry Drive, Bagatelle, Diego Martin, told Magistrate Stroude that he did not have an attorney.
The matter was adjourned to November 13 and transferred to the First Court. The charged was laid by Cpl Allison Woods-Dollaway of the Region II Homicide Bureau of Investigations. Manohar and Valentine lived at Gajadhar Trace. On Monday, Valentine was found chopped to death at his home, while Manohar was found on the roadway with chop wounds about the body. Investigations were conducted by acting ASP Johnny Abraham, Inspector Stanley Ramdeen, Sgt Eric Parks, PC Sunil Ramoutar of the Region II Homicide Bureau.
