People’s National Movement local government councillor, St Servius Pamphille, who was shot during a robbery on Wednesday, has lost his right kidney. Investigators said Pamphille’s kidney was removed by doctors after it was severely damaged by a bullet which entered his back and exited through his chest. Pamphille, popularly known as Clint, is a councillor with the Arima Borough Corporation. He is employed with Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) as a meter reader. He was ambushed by a group of men while checking a meter outside a house at Mount Hope Place, Mount Hope Road, on Wednesday morning.

According to police, Pamphille was accosted by the men who announced a hold-up. As he attempted to run away, he was shot in the back. The robbers approached the bleeding man, as he lay on the ground, and robbed him of a gold chain and other personal items. Pamphille was taken to Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope, where he underwent emergency surgery. He remained warded in stable condition.
