Police have arrested 19 people during several exercises at Enterprise, Chaguanas, between 9 am Wednesday and 3 am yesterday. During the exercises, three men were held in a vehicle at Crisie Terrace and a loaded German Luger 9mm pistol and ten rounds of ammunition seized. The gun is believed to be one of the firearms stolen from the Mi5 Security Company, Woodbrook, last month.
Police said the serial numbers on the pistol were filed off.

Up to late yesterday, officials at the Special Anti-Crime Unit’s Forensic Laboratory were conducting several tests on the firearm to determine if it belonged to Mi5. Thirteen were held in connection with narcotics while three on outstanding warrants. The exercises, spearheaded by Snr Supt Mc Millan, included Sgt Hudlin, Cpls Andrews and Mohammed and officers of the Central Division Task Force, Robbery Squad and CID. (AS)
