Missionary beaten, robbed in Carenage

Displaying a pair of trousers from which a pocket was ripped out, mechanical engineer Tony Pike painted a grim tale of being beaten up outside a parlour in Pt Cumana, Carenage. The incident, which left the German national traumatised, took place around 11 on Saturday night. He was returning from a church service at Holiness Revival Ministries in Woodbrook. During the scuffle, he retrieved $50, a laptop, but lost his phone valued about $130.
“I was shocked and disappointed the police never came. “I was brutally beaten and robbed in Carenage. I waited for two- and-half hours, almost naked in the road. “There were witnesses who waited for 30 to 40 minutes to give their testimony, but they got fed up and left.” Pike, a member of Is There Not A Cause (Intac), said he felt he needed a hiatus and wanted to give something back. “Just as I did missionary work in Mexico in 2003, I came to T&T to do the same work. Often times, we dig into our pockets to help. I felt I could better myself by helping others. We do work with the missions in Kenya and Haiti.”
We have to do better, Police
We have to do better, Police service.
Is there a metric/measure to BE ON SITE WITHIN 10 MINUTES when a call is received? If not, then we don't have enough vehicles spread out patrolling. Don't say it can't be done. Just ask, what do we need to make it happen. And make it so. This is how the First-World operates, when people's basic safety is so brazenly threatened.
Also, with all this Vision 2020, do we have to wait until the year 2020 before the 990 call to the police can be reviewed or put out in the media. Stunning... we see all the things that are possible in the US and Canada and which are used decisively time and time again, but we don't have them here yet. Just a lot of talk and talk about 'new crime plan' and 'new crime plan'. The situation is so dire, all these technologies should be here by now. It's been over 5 years that this crime situation has been acute.
But then again, we haven't removed/relocated the Port of Spain vagrants from the street. And don't say they did, but the vagrants came back. That's a Third-World response.
Talk, talk, and more talk. 2020 means ACTION. Get the job done.
Hmmm...how canthere be
Hmmm...how canthere be officers on the scene within 10 mins when there's a rostered shift of 14 officers and only 4 show up for duty?
That's no joke and no lie but the reality at one of the largest police stations in South Trinidad...

According to the Express the
According to the Express the half-naked man tried to flag down a passing police vehicle, but it passed him like a full bus. The same report says that the witnesses knew the identities of the assailants and waited to give the info to the police until they got fed up and left. This says it all. No comment necessary.
Sorry Mr Pike, but you can
Sorry Mr Pike, but you can clearly see that you still have a lot of work to get done.
The bandits who probably mistook you for some rich tourist are the ones in dire need of your help.
I think that God might be testing your faith in Him.

Okay so Mr. Pike has had his
Okay so Mr. Pike has had his soul cleansed by a good Trini
cut-arse- so what?!! This is news?! He needed a hiatus- from what, pray tell? Well, now he's got his matyrdom and can run off and write his Biography
Look its time "missionaries" of this sort, start realising
that they should start at home. A German called Tony Pike, c'mon this lad's obviously not what/who he's claiming to be, I suggest a full background check on this "mechanical engineer" and the real on why we need his type in Trini doing the "missionary"trip.
