?The nude body of a man, cov­ered in mud, was dis­cov­ered in a de­sert­ed area in Ca­roni ear­ly yes­ter­day. In­ves­ti­ga­tors ini­tial­ly be­lieved the corpse was that of a miss­ing sales clerk. The 34-year-old clerk of Fyz­abad was re­port­ed miss­ing by rel­a­tives on Sun­day and has not been seen since. Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, two se­cu­ri­ty guards were on pa­trol at Farm Road in Ca­roni when on reach­ing a track they spot­ted the corpse cov­ered in mud at the side of the road­way.

Po­lice said a rope was tied around the neck. The body, that of an East In­di­an man, ap­peared to be in the 40s and was dark in com­plex­ion. Po­lice said the man had a grey­ing beard and a low hair­cut. Any­one with in­for­ma­tion is urged to con­tact the near­est po­lice sta­tion or Crime Stop­pers at 800-Tips (8477).
