?Homicide detectives were last night questioning two suspects, one of whom is 16 years old, in connection with two murders, which occurred separately at Point Fortin and Moruga. The first murder occurred around 9 pm on Friday. Police said Harry Sooklal, 28, a carpenter of 13 Petite Cafe Road, Indian Walk was gambling downstairs of a house located close to his home, when three masked men walked in brandishing hand guns. The man fired one shot which struck Sooklal on the chest. The officers arrested a 28-year-old suspect of Fort George Road, Indian Walk, Moruga. Police said more arrests are imminent.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a 19-year-old youth died yesterday, after being stabbed five times about the body. Police said around 8.30 am, Curwin Bedeau, of TNA Road, Point Fortin was liming with a friend, when the friend got into an argument with the 16-year-old suspect. The suspect became enraged and whipped out a knife. He then stabbed Bedeau five times in the face, head and chest. Bedeau fell to the ground and died on the spot.
