?Three women were granted $5,000 bail each yesterday, when they appeared before a Port-of-Spain magistrate charged with attempting to murder another woman. Vanessa Valley, 20, of L'Anse Mitan Road, Carenage; Khiella Cox, 18, of East Dry River, Port-of-Spain; and Sachel Thomas, 18, of Herman-Scott Street, Laventille; stood before Seventh Court Magistrate Brian Dibadeen. They are charged with attempting to murder Rachel Arneaud on Charlotte Street and in Port-of-Spain General Hospital, on December 12.
Court prosecutor Sgt Dianne Boxhill told the magistrate the alleged incident occurred after "a message" was posted on Internet social network, Facebook. According to the prosecutor, the accused confronted Arneaud on Charlotte Street, and she was allegedly stabbed about the body with a knife. It is further alleged that Arneaud was attacked and stabbed a second time while seeking medical attention at Port-of-Spain General Hospital. The accused were represented by attorneys Liana Ramsahai, Fareed Ali and Milliard Howard. The matter was adjourned to January 29. (AS)
